Web & Information Design & Strategy
Produced various campaign visuals to support the outreach of the 2013 International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR).

Multilingual graphics for the website and social media, as well as designing visuals based on reports and analysis to support advocacy for the Day on the theme of “Disability and Disaster Risk Reduction“.

Collecting photographic evidence of the activities that took place for the Day was a tedious and thankless task. While the photos provided visual proof of the impact of the Day, the challenge was to be able to compile this information in a systematic way using the public’s help.
For 2013, we developed an interactive mapping solution by allowing the public and organizers of IDDR events to post their photos directly to the website. This also allowed uploads to be pinned on a map with detailed information entered by the user, and also populated a Flickr set which helped to publicize the Day through the platform. Over 600 photos were crowd-sourced.
